Dear Church Family,
We are living in strange and uncertain days. President Trump and the CDC has recently requested and encouraged limitations of social gathering to 10 people or less for the next 15 days in order to help slow the spread of COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus.
After careful and prayerful consideration, the deacons and I have come to a very difficult decision: we have decided it is best for us to suspend all in-person services at the church for the rest of March. This decision is not out of fear of contracting COVID-19. We trust in our God who is sovereign. We made this decision out of a love for each of the members of our family of faith.
Jesus declares in Matthew 22:37-40, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself” (CSB). Our desire is to love and protect those in our church who may be at “high-risk” of catching COVID-19.
So then, what can you expect over the next two weeks? First, know that the church is not the building. Born-again Christ-followers are the church, and while we may be doing church differently in the next two weeks, nothing can change that.
Second, we will be posting a full worship service online by 11:00 am Sunday morning so that you can continue to worship with us. You can access the service on YouTube by searching Big Level Baptist Church, our website biglevelbaptist.com and clicking the watch button, or our Facebook page. If you do not have access to the internet, we will have DVD’s available. If you would like a DVD, please call the office or me personally.
Finally, if you have a need in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me day or night.
I want to assure you that the deacons and I are monitoring this situation closely. Will you pray with us for our church, our community, and all affected at this time?
Please know that I am praying for you.
In Christ
Bro. Dusty
